Every March, the World’s Greatest Shave (WGS) presents a unique challenge that raises funds to provide game-changing blood cancer support and research. Run by the Leukaemia Foundation, the World’s Greatest Shave is one of the country’s longest-running and most iconic fundraising campaigns. Bringing Australians together to champion a good cause for over 25 years, the event raises money and awareness for blood cancers such as leukemia, lymphoma, and myeloma, by encouraging people to donate, shave, cut or colour their hair.

In 2025, the World’s Greatest Shave gains another supporter in our good friend Luke from @vanlifestraya. Having never done the shave before, Luke explains that he hopes to set a good example for his kids before bravely lets his 3 year old son operate the Remington clippers.

I’ve never participated in the World’s Greatest Shave. More recently, after becoming more aware about the shave and the amazing job it does to help fund critical blood cancer support and research, I jumped at the chance to be a part of it this year.

Having lost both my parents to cancer (albeit neither from blood cancer) I do try and participate in these kind of initiatives and fundraising events if I’m able too. Anything to help raise awareness and funds in the fight against cancer is a good thing in my opinion. And I think it also sets a good example for our kids – that we should try and help in different ways (doesn’t always have to be financial) if we are able to.

Of course I was a little bit nervous about relinquishing control of the Remington Power X5 Hair Clipper to my 3 year old son! But I think considering what a good job he did (with a little help from mum 😉) it speaks volumes about how easy these Remington clippers are to use. Super quick and simple, and although I was a little shocked at how short it was at first I think he actually did great and the result could’ve been a lot worse 😜

Of course you don’t need to fully shave your head in order to participate in the World’s Greatest Shave, you can also join in by cutting, colouring or donating…it’s all for a great cause!

Alternatively, you can donate to a team, individual fundraiser or to the Leukaemia Foundation. Every dollar you raise will help keep families together when they need each other most.

The best head shaving tool will depend on factors such as your hair type, hair length and your desired style.
